October Greetings

October greetings everyone!

Early Thursday morning, while sitting by a pond meditating, the first sliver of sun graced the side of my face and split me open with its brilliance. The sunbeam gradually expanded and spread warmth and light over my head, then slowly dimmed as the rays moved behind a tree. Sitting quietly with my eyes closed allowed me to receive each moment of the morning light’s arrival and departure. I was steeped in nature’s expansiveness and generosity. Perhaps you will find quiet times in the coming days and weeks to receive nature in your unique style.

Future Walks & Programs
As we are poised between the lush green of recent rains and the turning leaves of fall, I too am poised between what has been and what may be in the future. Experimenting with different ways to offer forest therapy, I plan to offer fun, casual walks in late fall through early spring and a home forest therapy program with a few zoom calls.

Nature Connection Activity
Find a small area to walk in the woods or a field off trails. Find a place where you can be still and quiet with solid footing. Close your eyes (or let them go soft, slightly out of focus) and feel the ground under your feet by moving your weight a little this way or that way. Open your eyes and slowly take little steps feeling the surface of the ground under your feet. What are you noticing? Is there another place to try this activity?

Contact with nature is vital to our well-being - as much as diet and exercise. Our existence depends on this propensity. Our spirit is woven from it and hope rises on its currents.
