Why I am writing a blog
I love my forest bathing practice of becoming quiet and centered in nature, with my senses open. I take in the day, the sky, the feel of earth under my feet. Then I follow what catches my attention and take my time with each discovery. This practice consistently creates delightful nature connections.
My blog is an opportunity to express my thoughts about living with a sense of curiosity and with the anxiety and struggles we all face from time to time. My questions or vulnerabilities of the moment are illuminated by being open to awarenesses coming to me in nature. Frequently I encounter unexpected treasures leading from a shaft of light, to a movement, a pattern or an unusual insect. Just one momentary experience can shift my mood and brighten my day.
Expressing deep reverence for nature and how it heals and reveals supports me on many levels. Engaging with nature in a reciprocal way is key to my experience. This may involve leaving an “offering” for nature in the form of some twigs and leaves artfully arranged, or creating a little brush pile as sanctuary for birds and other pollinators.
Sensing I belong in nature informs who I am and my relationship with this magnificent ecosystem. I walk away with new ideas, a sense of well-being and peace.
May we all grow in our partnership with nature.
